Nissan introduced the North American market to the compact pickup in the 1980s. This was the predecessor of today's midsize Frontier. Nissan continues to manufacture trucks that please people who really need and drive trucks. Here at Simmons Nissan, we are not at all surprised that the new Nissan Frontier is durable, reliable and absolutely tough. There are also trim levels explicitly designed for off-roading that ramp up its incredible capabilities.

Nissan Frontier Performance

With your new Nissan Frontier, you will find a truck with good horsepower from its V6 that is standard across the trim models. The transmission is a nine-speed automatic. Of course, you have the choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is selectable and has either a low or high mode. Low mode takes you uphill on loose gravel trails and in deeper snow that you should be in.

The new Frontier is capable of towing small or midsized trailers on your next camping adventure.

Nissan Frontier Exterior

You have the choice of beds and number of doors with your new Nissan Frontier. You can choose the Crew Cab, with four doors and your choice of a five- or six-foot bed length. The King Cab version has two doors and a standard six-foot bed length. Also, you can choose from an available truck bed light and an 120-volt electrical outlet to power your campsite or tools. The Midnight Edition has dark gray and black styling and theming inside and out. We have many useful accessories available for the Frontier, including a sport bar, side-window deflectors, step rails and tow hitch components.

Nissan Frontier Interior

Long drives are no problem with Nissan's Zero Gravity seats. These bucket seats can cradle you on all your drives. There is ample room in front with a large center console that is padded and can hold your drinks. More storage is provided under the rear seats, which have removable storage trays.

Information is provided in the off-road specialized trim model on the instrument cluster that shows if the rear differential is engaged, pitch and roll of the vehicle and the state of four-wheel drive. Available is a 360-degree camera to provide more assistance hooking up your trailer and getting out of tough spots. The multimedia screen is either eight or nine inches and is thoughtfully recessed a bit in the dashboard to be distraction free as you drive around Mount Airy.

Nissan Frontier Trim Levels

There are four trim levels for the Nissan Frontier:

  • Nissan Frontier S: The base trim level for the Frontier has the V6 engine, your choice of the King Cab or the short-bed version of the Crew Cab and the standard safety features. There are 16-inch steel wheels. If you choose the four-wheel drive version, you also get a front skid plate and a front tow hook.
  • Nissan Frontier SV: The SV trim level gives you the choice of all three of the bed length and cab configurations, and you can also add the Midnight Edition package for some stylish accents. The wheels are also upgraded to 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
  • Nissan Frontier Pro-X: The Pro-X trim level comes standard with off-road performance shock absorbers, a tow/haul driving mode switch, the larger multimedia screen, a Wi-Fi hotspot and SiriusXM® radio.
  • Nissan Frontier Pro-4X: The Pro-4X trim level provides the two-speed transfer case, hill descent control, a locking rear differential and multiple underbody skid plates.

You're sure to be impressed with the sturdy construction and beautiful cabin of the Frontier on all your drives around Mount Airy and into the wild.
